ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

SARA CELLI

1. What was life like before you became a member?

Before I became a member, I did not have any confidence nor the drive to work out more than a few minutes. I had no outlets or hobbies.

2. At the time you enrolled, were you already exercising? What was your previous background in fitness?

When I enrolled at KCF I was just doing some home workout videos or running. I was always active but never did hard core workouts or lifting .

3. What originally prompted you to seek us out?

What originally prompted me to seek out KCF honestly was because I heard you could bring your kids. That was a big reason why I never went to a gym and why I looked into this gym. Once I spoke to Alli and Tim. I was sold because they were such a wonderful couple, great people and a family-oriented gym. A “no bull“ kind of gym.

4. What was your goal when you originally signed up?

My goal when I signed up was to challenge myself. I never did CrossFit or lifted. I wanted to see what I was capable of, and to test my strength.

5. What have you liked best about working with us?

What I like best about working with KCF would definitely be the awesomeness of the staff and members. I love how everyone cheers everyone on. Helping to improve and push one another. The judgment free atmosphere, like a gym family.

6. What are you most proud of achieving since you started?

What I am most proud of achieving is pull ups. Rx-ing workouts and the amount of weight I am able to lift.

7. With everything that you have accomplished, has your view of yourself changed?

I would say my view of myself has definitely changed. CrossFit has made me stronger, better at sports, made me more adventurous, have better eating habits and has given me confidence I didn’t know I could have.

8. What would you say to anyone else who might be dealing with any similar struggles you did?

I would tell someone who struggled with what I did... to just do it! Bring your kids, don’t be shy and you can only succeed. CrossFit changed my life. The results are obvious.

9. Do you have any special moments/memories?

Some memories that come to mind in my 2 and a half years here so far, was when I was the only one who showed up to a 12:15 class and it was just coach Alli and me ... and she just pushed me and gave me one of the best workouts I ever had! And when Tim used me as his Turkish getup human kettle bell . When I got my KCF 2-year member shirt, and how special KCF makes me feel when I get a post card in the mail about how I’m doing. Knowing when they notice you’re working hard, that encouragement is very thoughtful .

10. What is your favorite movement/lift?

My favorite lift would be the split jerk and hang power clean. My favorite movements would be dumbbell snatch, wallball, devil press, weighted lunges and cardio workouts .

I’m just so thankful for KCF. For believing in me, helping me live a healthier lifestyle and for being so great with my kids. Everyone is supportive, kind, and all together awesome! I love all the staff and great members! I always encourage people to come and see what this gym has to offer!
