1. What was life like before you became a member?

Before I joined Keystone CrossFit, I had terrible self-body image which led to avoiding problems in life. I didn’t want to see friends or family because I was afraid of their reaction to my weight gain. I isolated myself a lot and turned to food as a coping mechanism, which only made my problems worse.


2. At the time you enrolled, were you already exercising? What was your previous background in fitness?

At the time I enrolled I was not physically active at all. I have played many sports in my life which helps me to adapt and learn new movements quickly. (Softball was my favorite out of the many sports).


3. What originally prompted you to seek us out?

I originally contacted Keystone because my weight had reached an all-time high of 280.2 lbs. My cousin Alyssa and Ellie inspired me with both of their weight loss journeys. One more inspiration was seeing Allison’s amazing transformation after baby Evie was born. (I still have the messages between Allison and I) *it is pretty cool to look back at them.


4. What was your goal when you originally signed up? 

My ultimate goal was to lose weight and gain confidence.


5. What have you liked best about working with us? 

My favorite part of Keystone is community support and friendly competition between each other and also personal competition.


6. What are you most proud of achieving since you started?

I am so proud of losing 75 pounds overall.

7. What would you say to anyone else who might be dealing with any similar struggles you did?

Remove negativity in your own mind. I always said, “I could never do that” or “I look terrible”. Now I say, “Let’s see how far I can push myself” and “trust the process”. Just START: I started at 280.2 lbs. and couldn’t even run the 400m. I had to walk almost all of it when I started. I can run it now because I stuck with it. CONSISTENCY. Last piece of advice: Never be self-inflated: I will always remember where I started which humbles me. Always be appreciative and don’t take anything for granted.


8. Do you have any special moments/memories?

My favorite memory so far was the Saturday morning max out session where I hit a deadlift of 335 lbs. That was awesome, but the community support made it so much more special.


9. What is your favorite movement/lift?

Snatching is my favorite because I have so much to work on/improve.



I love Keystone and many of the members have become like a second family to me. Community support has been the biggest help for me. I really hope the community will continue to welcome and include new members as they did for me. A simple “keep going”, or “you can do it” makes a huge difference.
