1.What was life like before you became a member?

Before becoming a member, life looked like your typical stay-at-home mom routine, taking care of the kids, sending them off to school, managing the housework, and running errands. All my time and energy went into caring for my children. Now that my youngest of three is in preschool part-time, I’ve been given a small window of time for myself. I realized there’s no better way to spend that time than focusing on becoming a healthier, stronger mom and wife.

2. At the time you enrolled, were you already exercising? What was your previous background in fitness?

At the time I enrolled the only exercise that I did was going for walks. Years ago I did go to a gym that held classes but nothing like CrossFit.

3. What originally prompted you to seek us out?

My cousin, Alison Benjamin, invited me during a friend week, and I figured I’d give it a try. After just a couple of classes, I was completely hooked!

4. What was your goal when you originally signed up?

My goal when I signed up was to feel healthier and stronger overall. I’m at a point in life where I know how important it is for women to stay active to maintain muscle and strength as we get older. I’ve also seen family members lose mobility in their legs, and that really stuck with me. I want to do what I can now to stay strong, capable, and independent for as long as possible.

5. What have you liked best about working with us?

The workouts and the community, for sure. I love how supportive everyone is, it really motivates you to push yourself and do your best.

6. What are you most proud of achieving since you started?

I’m most proud of achieving rope climbing. I was really intimidated by it at first, and my initial thought was that there was no way I could do it. But with practice and persistence, I improved, and now I’m able to climb it

7. With everything that you have accomplished, has your view of yourself changed?

Yes, absolutely and in such an amazing way. CrossFit has shown me that I can do hard things. I’m stronger than I ever thought I could be, and I’m able to do workouts I never imagined I’d be capable of. I may not always do them Rx, but I always give my best, and that’s an amazing feeling

8. What would you say to anyone else who might be dealing with any similar struggles you did?

Don’t give up. Even when it feels hard and impossible. Keep going. Keep showing up. We’re all rooting for you, and every small step forward matters. Stay consistent and you will get there.

9. Do you have any special moments/memories?

Getting my first RX!! What a moment and feeling!

10. What is your favorite movement/lift?

My favorite movements are anything that works my legs since I want to keep building strength there. Maybe thrusters.

Sharing is caring!
