1.What was life like before you became a member?
Before I became a member, I was always pretty active and enjoyed working out but took a break from the gym because life and my kids’ schedules had gotten so busy. It was just easier to take a step back from the gym. I really missed having something just for me, and I knew it was time to get back into a fitness routine.

2. At the time you enrolled, were you already exercising? What was your previous background in fitness?
I have been working out on and off for years doing at home workouts or working out at local gyms.

3. What originally prompted you to seek us out?
My mom and sister both do CrossFit and always talk about how challenging it is. I knew I needed something out of my comfort zone that would challenge and push me. I did the bring a friend week and I’m so glad I finally did!

4. What was your goal when you originally signed up?
When I first signed up, my goals were: lose some weight, get in better shape and become more consistent with working out. I also really wanted to challenge myself and get outside of my comfort zone. I wanted to prove to myself that I could stick with something and push myself further with each workout. Along the way, my goals have grown into getting stronger, building muscle, and seeing what I’m truly capable of.

5. What have you liked best about working with us?
The community. Everyone is so supportive and genuinely wants to see you succeed. They push you to try harder, lift heavier, and believe in yourself when you’re not sure you can do it.

6. What are you most proud of achieving since you started?
Being consistent. I’m still a newbie and I’ve learned not to be so hard on myself and not to compare where I am to anyone else.

7. With everything that you have accomplished, has your view of yourself changed?
Yes. CrossFit has made me realize that I am capable of so much more than I ever thought I was. There are so many times I walk into a workout thinking there is no way I can do this, and somehow, I do (even if it’s scaled)!

8. What would you say to anyone else who might be dealing with any similar struggles you did?
Just give yourself a chance. If I can do it, so can you!

9. Do you have any special moments/memories?
Since I’m still new, I don’t have one specific moment that stands out just yet. It’s the little moments in class that have been the most special to me, showing up, pushing through a hard workout, and seeing how much the community encourages and builds each other up.

10. What is your favorite movement/lift?
Deadlifts and Front Squats!!
