1.What was life like before you became a member?
My life is full. With 3 kids, and a full-time job, I usually wake up early in the mornings to get a workout in and then try to move my body as much as I am able throughout the day.

2. At the time you enrolled, were you already exercising? What was your previous background in fitness?
My fitness journey started after I had my second child. I started with YouTube videos at home and would do light dumbbell cardio workouts and run. Eventually, I migrated toward strength training. Prior to becoming a member at Keystone CrossFit, my exercise routine included daily strength training sessions. I focused on targeting a different muscle group every day and lifting as heavy as possible. As time permitted, I would sprinkle in some cardio.

3. What originally prompted you to seek us out?
I needed a challenge. As much as I love lifting, I missed the feeling of pushing myself and the pump of adrenaline from cardiovascular exercise.

4. What was your goal when you originally signed up?
My goal was to increase my endurance, strength and mobility.

5. What have you liked best about working with us?
The variety and the range of exercises and the ability to scale as needed, additionally the support that both the CrossFit community and the coaches provide. Even as a beginner, I am never made to feel that I do not belong. I love that every time I doubt myself, Coach Tim gives me a look that says, “of course you can do this!” I have had the honor of meeting some of the strongest, supportive and most badass women, who are super inspiring.

6. What are you most proud of achieving since you started?
Last month, on my birthday, I got an RX!!!
7. With everything that you have accomplished, has your view of yourself changed?
Yes! I feel stronger and more accomplished. If someone had told me last year that I would be climbing a rope, I would have laughed in their face, but yet here I am, a year later, somehow climbing a rope, a testament to the fact that we don’t give ourselves the credit we deserve. I am stronger and braver than I thought.

8. What would you say to anyone else who might be dealing with any similar struggles you did?
Just try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

9. Do you have any special moments/memories?
Every time I lift heavier than I did before or improve at an exercise that I never thought I could do (24in box jump at my height!) and more recently, I got the opportunity to participate in “Murph” on Memorial Day. That was special.
10. What is your favorite movement/lift?
Push Jerks and Deadlifts!!
