1.What was life like before you became a member?

I had been in a little bit of a slump and joining KCF helped get me out of it.

2. At the time you enrolled, were you already exercising? What was your previous background in fitness?

Yes i was exercising, i was running a couple times a week and somewhat sporadically weight lifting, 1-2 times a week. I started weight lifting about 8 years ago, but the ways in which I did that shifted numerous times. There was a time I had an online coach for about 6 months once, I joined some virtual challenges and tried to find a group that way, but eventually I would tire of it and it felt like such a chore.

3. What originally prompted you to seek us out?

I really like feeling strong but had burned myself out at my local gym. It wasn’t fun anymore and I was going less and less, my outlet was becoming running and I wanted to find a way to enjoy weight training again.

4. What was your goal when you originally signed up?

Improve my athleticism, get stronger and not hate the workouts.

5. What have you liked best about working with us?

The coaches and other members are so lovely and supportive. Its been a game changer at building up my dedication to my fitness, and has made it fun again.

6. What are you most proud of achieving since you started?

Not being super intimidated at new lifts! I have a bad habit of shrinking down in group settings and feeling self conscious and awkward, and CrossFit is really bringing me out of that shell in a way not much else has.

7. With everything that you have accomplished, has your view of yourself changed?

Yes it definitely has! I’m more confident in myself and my abilities in general. I used to watch videos of Crossfit lifts and think “I could never do that” but turns out I can!! Tonight the workout was snatches, and while I still struggle with them, it was BY FAR the best I’ve been able to do them since joining. So it’s been really nice to get that boost of self assurance and know that I’m always improving.

8. What would you say to anyone else who might be dealing with any similar struggles you did?

Just give it a shot, you wont regret it! Finding a community who supports you makes a huge difference, and that is how it feels to be a member at KCF.

9. Do you have any special moments/memories?

The gym puppies are a personal favorite!

10. What is your favorite movement/lift?

Right now my favorite movement is clean and jerks because they make me feel really strong!

Sharing is caring!
